Damon Amato, Former Head Athletic Trainer at Lowell High School, was arraigned in Middlesex Superior Court Monday on 3 counts of Indecent Assault and Battery on a Person over 14 Years of Age.
Amato, who operates Bay State Athletic Training Services, lists August of 2004 as his start date at Lowell High. He also lists current positions as Adjunct Professor at Lassell College in Newton and Merrimack College in North Andover.
News of the arraignment began to trickle out Tuesday when Lowell School Superintendent Joel Boyd and Lowell High Head of Schools Mikchael Fiato sent this letter to parents:
While the identity of the person charged wasn’t disclosed in the letter, sources identified Amato as the individual in question and court records obtained by InsideLowell confirmed the information.
