Game Over: Lezenski Officially Resigns as A.D.

After nearly two months of mystery, there is finally closure, sort of, to a story we brought you in late January:

WCAP-AM Morning Show Host Gerry Nutter reports that Dave Lezenski handed in his letter of resignation on March 10th.

Sources originally confirmed to InsideLowell that the Lowell High Athletic Director had been placed on paid leave, though no reasoning for that step has ever been publicly provided. Nutter is reporting the resignation letter cited “health reasons” and that his information was confirmed by school officials.

Scott Ouellet, who has been handling Athletic Director duties since the beginning of February, will continue in the role through the end of the academic year while a search process will be launched to fill the position permanently for 2023-2024 school year. Superintended of Schools, Dr. Joel Boyd, was highly complimentary of Ouellet’s performance during an InsideLowell podcast. (that discussion takes place at the 47:35 mark of this interview)
