Halloween Events in the Mill City

There is never a lack of events and things to do in Lowell and Halloween is no exception! Here are a few spooktacular (I couldn’t resist!) happenings taking place this week.


Thursday, October 27th

Brought to you by the City of Lowell’s Office of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (CASE) and the Kiwanis Club of Greater Lowell, this free event features Trick or Treating at nearly 25 businesses located throughout Downtown Lowell and a haunted house at Lowell City Hall! Lowell Ghosts, Goths & Ghouls: A Talk at the Pollard Memorial Library from 3-4pm
What strange sights and sounds cause shivers for staff and performers at the Merrimack Repertory Theatre? What’s Lowell’s connection to the notorious “Postcard Killer”? Did Edgar Allan Poe once write a bad poem about beer to pay his bar tab at a local tavern? Hear these and other spooky local tales from host Edward Sears Read of Haunted Lowell. What strange sights and sounds cause shivers for staff and performers at the Merrimack Repertory Theatre? What’s Lowell’s connection to the notorious “Postcard Killer”? Because this is a walking tour in the evening, attendees should feel comfortable navigating sidewalks in dim light and low visibility. Find out more details here!
Halloween Concert: 8am at UMass Lowell’s Durgin Hall
Join UMass Lowell for an eerily fun night at their Halloween Concert with UMass Lowell University Orchestra (Mark Latham, Director). Chancellor Julie Chen will be reading a Halloween poem! Free admission!
