Hanley Not in Town Manager Running

As the search for Dracut’s new Town Manager heads into the home stretch, the parties involved have been surprisingly tight-lipped about the process and details about those vying for the position.

That process finds the appointed search committee conducting interviews this week, with a list of three names expected to be forwarded to the Board of Selectman this coming Monday.

Sources InsideDracut do, however, tell us that current office holder Gregory Hanley will not be one of those names.

Hanley, who was appointed to the Interim Town Manager position in July, did not get invited into the interview process, according to our ears close to the pavement.

Those same sources also tell us Hanley will not be staying on until the next Manager starts work and that his tenure with the town comes to a close next Thursday, October 31, when his 90-day contract expires.

Despite those details making the rounds, little else is known outside of the current timeline, similar to the last Town Manager search process at the end of 2019 and beginning of 2020.
