LOWELL — State Representative Rady Mom is pleased to announce Jacob Vitali has joined his staff as his new Legislative Aide.
Vitali succeeds Somong Rattanayong who is joining the office of U.S. Rep. Lori Trahan as Director of Constituent Services. His first day on the job was Monday.
“I am beyond grateful for Somong’s hard work and dedication on behalf of the 18th Middlesex District, she has made our district and our city a better place. She will be truly missed, however I’m grateful she is not going too far and we will continue working together in many ways to make our community a better place,” Rep. Mom said. “Our office is here to help in any way we can and we encourage you to reach out, hearing from you is important to us.”
Vitali is no stranger to the city of Lowell or the 18th Middlesex District. Between April 2021 and April 2022, he worked as a reporter for the Lowell Sun covering local politics. After his reporting stint, Vitali was promoted to City Editor of the Sentinel & Enterprise of Fitchburg. He later returned home, writing for InsideLowell and reestablishing his connections in the city.
“I am incredibly grateful to Rep. Mom for giving me this opportunity to make a difference for a city that I love. I am lucky to have not only the representative, but also Somong as teachers while I start this new chapter in my career. Somong leaves an impressive legacy in the State House and I know I have big shoes to fill,” Vitali said.
