Lowell Girls Lacrosse teams brought energy and excitement to the field this Mother’s Day weekend.
From strong wins to close battles, every team showed growth, hustle, and teamwork in a great slate of games.
Here’s a look at the highlights.
Grade 1/2:
The 1/2 team closed out their home schedule in style with a commanding 10–2 win over Methuen on a beautiful Mother’s Day morning.
Midfielder Michaela Marshall led the way with four goals, using her movement off the ball and aggressive drives to the net to create scoring chances. Eva Mojica had a strong two-way performance, notching two goals and a team-high six assists while also forcing several turnovers on defense.

Etta Brunini added an assist, and midfielders Sophia Bedard, Evelyn McManus, and Charlotte Patterson contributed strong efforts by hustling for ground balls, advancing the ball in transition, and staying tight on defense.
On attack, Avery Gudewich tallied two goals and an assist, while Vivian Gilmore chipped in with a goal and an assist of her own. Kerryn Welch and Reese Hegarty also stood out on the offensive end with good movement and positioning off the ball.
Defensively, Kinsley Witts made an impact on both ends, scoring a goal and helping to shut down multiple scoring chances from Methuen. Harper Ronan brought energy and toughness to the defensive end, playing aggressively throughout the game.
In goal, Ruari Pollard got the start and made several key saves to keep Methuen off the board early. Audrey Whittemore took over in the second half and continued the strong play in net with multiple stops of her own.
It was a great all-around team performance and a fantastic way to wrap up the home portion of the season!

Grade 3/4 White:
The 3/4 White team pulled off an impressive 10–8 victory over Woburn in a tightly contested game on Sunday. It was an exciting back-and-forth battle, and Lowell’s resilience and teamwork made the difference.
The win was fueled by a strong full-field defensive effort, with players stepping up to make key stops and force turnovers. That defensive pressure created opportunities on the offensive end, and the team capitalized.
Standout performances came from all over the field. On attack, Bella Cardaci scored two goals, Kendra Dexter added two assists, and Delaney Donovan chipped in with one assist.
In the midfield, Addison Feeney led the way with four goals and two assists, while Brooklyn Esteves and Vivian Brown each added two goals.
On defense, Maya Underwood made several key stops and added an assist, and Madison O’Hearn delivered a strong, steady performance. In goal, Lily Brady came up big with four important saves to help secure the win.
It was a great team effort that showed off the girls’ growing skills, determination, and ability to work together under pressure.

Grade 3/4 Red:
The 3/4 Red team played an exhilarating game against Chelmsford, ending in a hard-fought 18–18 tie that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. Both teams showcased tremendous skill and determination, making it a memorable matchup on Mother’s Day.
Goalies Shine: Audrey Hunt and Keira Pollard were stellar in goal. Keira Pollard’s crucial stop at the end of the game was pivotal, allowing her team to secure the tie.
Standout Performances: Vivian Shanley was a force to be reckoned with, dominating the draw and scoring an impressive 8 goals. Her ability to scoop up ground balls was unmatched. Ellie Branco also had a remarkable game in the attack position, netting 7 goals.
Key Contributions: Addy Dolan contributed 2 goals and gained several possessions after faceoffs, showcasing her versatility. Ellie Jaracz added 1 goal and played exceptional defense, while Kenzie Keo’s hustle and defensive prowess provided strong support for her goalies.
Overall, it was the ultimate matchup, with both teams pushing each other to their limits and delivering a game that kept everyone on their toes.

Grade 5/6:
The 5/6 girls put on a gritty, high-energy performance in a hard-fought battle against Methuen, ultimately falling just short with a 12–10 loss. From the opening whistle to the final buzzer, the team gave it everything they had, leaving it all on the field. Coaches were proud of the intensity and heart shown by every player.
The scoring effort was spread out, with goals coming from Cate Richardson, Maggie Richardson, Sam Heslin, Nora Kelly, Lilah Hall, Maeve Marshall, Maeve McKiernan, and Maggie Wilson. A standout moment on attack came when Talia Cardia delivered a beautiful assist to Sam Heslin for a goal.
Defensively, the team was anchored by strong performances from Keira Peters, Abby Smulligan, Niamh Murphy, Maeve Marshall, Erin McGovern, Nora Finn, and Rosalinda Goguen, who all worked hard to contain Methuen’s offense and force turnovers.

There were also noticeable improvements on the offensive side, with Bella Bedard stood out for her hustle, quickly transitioning to defense and riding opponents all the way to the restraining line. Renee Wagner showed great growth in her confidence near the crease, working to create scoring chances.
In the midfield, Nora Graham used her speed and quick decision-making to move the ball effectively and create opportunities. Interceptions by Mairin Monaghan and Maeve McKiernan provided key momentum shifts throughout the game.
Several players are not only suiting up for the 5/6 team but also showcasing their growth by contributing at the 7/8 level. This group includes Mairin Monaghan, Abby Smulligan, Erin McGovern, Cate Richardson, Maggie Richardson, Niamh Murphy, Maggie Wilson, Nora Graham, and Maeve Marshall.
Despite the close loss, it was an exciting and hard-fought game that highlighted the team’s growth and determination.

Grade 7/8:
The 7/8 team played a strong game against Methuen on Sunday, May 11.
At midfield, Sophia Pinheiro and Jolene Heslin were standouts, pushing the pace and maintaining possession. On attack, Peyton Kum, Angelina Poirier, Sadie Ronan, and Lilly Bordeleau created several key scoring opportunities while also forcing turnovers.
On the defensive end, Skylar Nwaise, Amalie Oworu, and Isabella Sorbi held strong, protecting the net and challenging Methuen’s offense.
