Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother & Great-Grandmother

LOWELL – Electa M. “Lucky” (Gotham) Gagne, 79, died at Lowell General Hospital from sudden health complications on Sunday, July 23, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Donald R. Gagne, with whom she would have celebrated 51 years of marriage on August 5th. They shared a life together for 55 years.

She was born in Lowell on March 27, 1944 and was a daughter of the late Grace H. (LaPorte) and John W. Gotham. Electa devoted her life to helping others and worked as a CNA at D’Youville Manor for several years.

Electa donated her time and crafting talents to St. Michael’s School and Parish. She had a strong faith and would frequently pray to Saint Anthony.

She spent her summers at the beach and enjoyed time with her family during the holidays, especially Christmas. Electa loved to dance, tell jokes and could often be found shopping for herself and her loved ones.

Overall, family was the most valued aspect of Electa’s life and with each and every action she displayed love to her family.

In addition to her husband, Electa is survived and will be deeply missed by her children, Ella Montgomery, Kimmy (Montgomery) Santos, Karen (Montgomery) Reardon and Donna Gagne; her grandchildren, Joseph Lipomi, Cory Lipomi, Paul Santos, Samantha Reardon, Britney Reardon, Greg “Harry” Reardon, Donald “Stephen” Gonzalez-Gagne, Angelica Guzman-Gagne, Melinda Guzman-Gagne, Elizabeth Reardon and Marissa Guzman-Gagne; her great-grandchildren, Patrick, Oliver, Leo, Camden, Noah, Stella and her 7th great-grandchild, which she was excited to welcome in January of 2024; her siblings, Priscilla “Chubby” Gagne, James Gotham, John Gotham, Harry Gotham, Phyllis Jedrey, Roseann Padgett and Melina Tallard; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was the sister of the late Dora Gagne, Sandra Berry and Edward Gotham and the grandmother of the late Ryan Santos.

Relatives and friends are invited to Electa’s Life Celebration on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 4 until 7 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM at St. Michael Church, Lowell. Burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
