Proactive Patrol Leads to Weapons Arrest

The Mill City’s men and women in blue, together with law enforcement partners, continue to take drugs and weapons off the streets.

On August 13th, Lowell Police SIS Detectives and Warrant Unit, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police, were conducting proactive patrols in the area of the South Common Park.

Detectives observed an apparent drug transaction and conducted a motor vehicle stop of an involved vehicle. An occupant of the vehicle fled on foot and was apprehended by detectives following a brief foot pursuit.

This individual, a juvenile male, was found to be in possession of a firearm and illegal narcotics. He was placed under arrest for firearms and narcotics charges.

An adult male occupant of the vehicle was also placed under arrest for narcotics charges.
