LOWELL – Senator Vanna Howard (D-Lowell) is co-hosting the first annual back-to-school drive with Project Kompass on Saturday, August 1 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Project Kompass Community Center, 192 Appleton Street in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Requested donations include new clothing, shoes, backpacks, school supplies, and sneakers for school aged boys and girls of all sizes, from kindergarten through high school. The donations will then be shared during a first Annual Back-to-School Event on Saturday, August 22 which will also feature local barbers and hairstylists, offering their services to students at no cost.

“Every child deserves to walk into school feeling confident, prepared, and excited. Thanks to groups like Project Kompass, we are giving our kids the vital tools they need for a strong start,” said Senator Howard.

Project Kompass is a Massachusetts-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides transitional housing for young women (ages 18–24), new mothers, and their babies.
