The “Scoop” on Lowell Girls Lacrosse 2025

A Message from Lowell Girls Lacrosse Program President, Kaitie Shanley

Lowell Girls Lacrosse (LGL) is a non-profit organization founded in 2002 with a mission to grow the sport of lacrosse in the Lowell community.

Serving approximately 100 student-athletes, LGL competes in the Massachusetts Youth Lacrosse (MYL) league, joining over 150 other towns and cities. The program fields six teams from Kindergarten through 8th grade, offering young athletes a chance to develop their skills in a positive and supportive environment. Players in grades 1-8 participate in an eight-game regular season, which concludes with the MYL end-of-season Jamboree at Fort Devens, featuring three additional games.

As one of the largest all-girls youth programs in the city, LGL is proud of its continued growth and the progress of our athletes both on and off the field. It is inspiring to see our players develop confidence, skills, and teamwork throughout the season.

This year, we are excited to host our Sunday home games at Carvalho Field and introduce our newest initiative, LGL Littles—a Kindergarten program designed to introduce our youngest players to the fundamentals of lacrosse in a fun and engaging way.

We are deeply grateful to our dedicated board members, coaches, and volunteers whose hard work and passion drive the success of our program. A special thank you to our parents and local businesses for their ongoing support, contributions, and encouragement—it truly makes a difference.

As the season unfolds, we look forward to celebrating our athletes’ achievements and the continued growth of Lowell Girls Lacrosse!
