Two people were shot in Lowell’s Christian Hill neighborhood last night.

A source tells InsideLowell police responded to a 9-1-1 call for a domestic incident involving a woman with her children inside the home and her ex “outside with a gun.” The dispatcher had the caller barricade the door and stayed on the line with her. She was uninjured in the incident.

As police arrived, another woman who happened to be outside was shot, before the suspect himself was shot. It is not clear what, if any, relationship the woman outside had with the individuals involved, or how the “ex” was shot. At least one of the victims was transported by Medflight.

Due to the domestic nature of the incident, Lowell Police aren’t releasing many specifics surrounding the story.

They did, however, issue a statement to InsideLowell stating “The Lowell Police Department, with assistance from State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorneys office, are investigating an incident that occurred on 12th St., in Lowell, last night, that resulted in two adults suffering from gunshot wounds. Both adults are expected to survive at this time. This was an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public.”
