Strive to Be #MoreLike4

Steve Botto left his mark on our community in many ways, none more important than the young lives he impacted through his years teaching and coaching.

So it comes as no surprise that when the Shedd Park Baseball and Softball Organization (SPBO) embarked on its effort to build a new concession stand/bathroom facility, the decision was made to name it after Botto and ensure that he would remain an ever-present part of Shedd Park.

The SPBO is a 501 c3 registered non-profit organization dedicated to providing the children of Lowell, as well as their families and friends, a fun, safe environment in which they can exercise, learn, and grow while playing sports in the best and safest environment possible for everyone.

To address one of the most glaring needs at Shedd Park, the lack of sanitary facilities available on site, the SPBO has launched a GoFundMe effort with a stated goal of $50,000. As of this publishing, they are nearly 2/3 of the way to that goal, having raised just over $33,000.

We at InsideLowell want to help put them over the top, and we’re counting on you to help make that happen. Steve’s family says the facility was “one of his dreams.”

Please visit their GoFundMe page to learn more and contribute. In the process you’ll learn more about Stephen M. Botto, why the facility will honor him, and why we should all strive to be #MoreLike4
