Time to introduce another Wellpoint All-Star, the feature where our friends at Wellpoint pay tribute to City of Lowell employees who toil behind the scenes, making our city and our community a better place.

This month, we shine the spotlight on Doreen Burgess, Assistant to the City Manager.

Burgess has been a constant presence by Tom Golden’s side, joining the then State Representative’s staff 18-years ago, before moving with him to City Hall when he assumed the Manager’s post in April of 2022.

“Doreen is a consummate professional that is an invaluable part of my administration,” Golden said. “I have truly been blessed to have her by my side when difficult decisions arise. Her vast knowledge and experience is a steady hand for the entire staff.”
