Lowell – KC and the Sunshine Band, who soared to stardom in the 1970’s as one of the top Disco acts, will be shaking their booty for a Mill City audience this Fall.
The Band, as widely popular today as they were when they first danced into the music scene, will take the stage Saturday, October 3 at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Harry Wayne Casey—KC for short—developed a unique fusion of R&B and funk, with a hint of a Latin percussion groove, giving us an impressive string of hits like “Get Down Tonight,” “That’s The Way (I Like It),” Shake Your Booty” and “I’m Your Boogie Man.”
With sales of over 100 million records, nine Grammy nominations, three Grammy Awards and an American Music Award, KC and the Sunshine Band was one of the most progressive bands of the 70s and is credited with changing the sound of modern pop music.
Today, KC and the Sunshine Band play over 100 live shows annually, circling the country and playing dates regularly throughout Europe, Australia and South America.
This year KC will celebrate 50 years of entertaining us, writing songs, performing around the world and has no intention of stopping.
Tickets for KC & The Sunshine Band at Lowell Memorial Auditorium on Saturday, October 3, at 7:30 pm go on sale Friday, August 21, at 10:00 am at lowellauditorium.com or by calling 1-800-657-8774.
So put on your boogie shoes, grab your tickets and be prepared for a great night of music and dancing in the heart of Downtown Lowell.
