TEWKSBURY — Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department is seeking a New Hampshire man on a warrant charging him with breaking into a Tewksbury golf club.
The same man is known to be involved in at least two other local incidents on the same day. InsideLowell has learned he was involved in a November 25 break-in and attempted robbery at Longmeadow Golf Club in Lowell. Later that day, he was involved in a high-speed chase through New Hampshire and Massachusetts after allegedly stealing an SUV from a Derry, NH auto dealership.
In addition, Andrew McInnes, age 40, of Derry, New Hampshire is now being sought by Tewksbury PD on a warrant charging him with:
• Breaking and Entering into a Building in the Nighttime
• Larceny from a Building
• Willful and Malicious Destruction of Property
On Monday, Nov. 25, at about 2 a.m., the Tewksbury Police Department was called to the Trull Brook Golf Course, 170 River Road, for a report that an alarm was sounding.
Officers arrived to find that a glass door to the golf course pro shop had been smashed.
The Pro Shop was ransacked, with several sleeves of golf balls and some gift cards missing.
A subsequent investigation that included a detailed review of local surveillance footage and collaboration with Lowell Police, Derry, N.H. Police, Massachusetts State Police and Salem, N.H. Police identified McInnes as the suspect.
Several sleeves of golf balls and Trull Brook Pro Shop gift cards were recovered during the course of the investigation.
Tewksbury Police obtained a warrant for McInnes’s arrest from Lowell District Court. That warrant remains active.
