Inside sources tell us former City Councilor Corey Belanger will make his At-Large City Council run official later this week.

Belanger, who opened an account with the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance on April 28th, is seeking a return to the council after serving two terms from 2014-2017. Sources informed us as far back as February that he was strongly considering another run, though a definitive decision was not reached till recently.

Belanger will become the fourth publicly declared candidate for the three city-wide seats, joining incumbents Rita Mercier and Vesna Nuon, along with District 8 (Upper Highlands) Councilor Erik Gitschier, who opted to seek an at-large seat this November.
