Through rain, snow, sleet or hail… our baseball teams still found a way to compete in over 70 baseball games this past April.  Weather couldn’t hold back some of our top performers… let’s take a look at who led our programs to start our season:

Brock Upton led our 9U Black team to a fast start hitting .452 with 2HR and 18 RBI in the month of April.  Xavien McLellan (2.74 ERA in 15.1 IP) and Elias Marte (3.39 ERA in 10.1 IP) established themselves as leaders on the 9U Black staff and will be critical as the team looks to compete at the highest level of the 9U Perfect Game New England League.

Brady Alicea (.583 avg) has led the charge offensively for 9U Purple in the month of April.  Brady was joined by Liam Matos (.444 avg) & Jomar Santos (.400 avg) as leaders at the plate to kick off the season.

Joseph Esquilin (.375 avg) has been a leader at the plate and in the field to start the season for our 9U White team.  He’s been supported by Connor Dumais (4.20 ERA) and Zach Jaracz, who has been a standout defensively behind the plate.

David Cespedes (.609 avg) and Angelo Santiago (.526 avg) both had huge April performances to lead our 10U team to a fast start within the Perfect Game New England 10U Division.  Jax Silva has led the team on the mound pitching 13 innings and only allowing 2 runs thus far with batters only batting .098 against him.

Zahir Rodriguez (.565 avg) and James Kane (.500 avg) have been off to scorching starts to begin their seasons leading 11U to a great start in the PG Elite Division.  Thomas Florence continues to carry the pitching staff with 17.1 innings pitched with 29 strikeouts and only 4 walks during the month of April.

Our 12U team is off to a fast start in the PG Elite Division led by many players with video game-like numbers as the balls are flying out of parks across the City of Lowell.

Wesley McDonald (10 HR), Arthur De Souza (6 HR), Matthew Rurak (5 HR) and Drew Durkin (5 HR) have led a potent lineup who hit forty total home runs in the month of April. Aleksi Romanowsky (4.54 ERA) and Emilio Cespedes (5.25 ERA) have done their best to keep the ball in the park in a hitter-friendly 12U landscape thus far in April.

Transitioning to the major league size diamond for the first time, our 13U team has been led by Bryceson Silva who has started with an eye-popping 14 hits in his first 16 at-bats to start the season.  Silva has also led the efforts on the mound with Keegan Foley (5.09 ERA) providing great contributions as well. Ryan Galvin and Jake McNeil have led the efforts defensively providing great defense at catcher and shortstop, respectively.

Cooper Snow (.391 avg), Ryan Foley (.333 avg) and Dylan LeLacheur (.320 avg) led the way offensively for 14U Black this April.  Griffin Graham (2.03 ERA in 10.1 IP) has joined Snow (1.17 ERA in 12 IP) in leading the way on the mound for our team competing in the 14U PG Elite Division.

Melchizedek Keo-Vann continues his hot hitting from 2024 with a great start to 2025 hitting .636 through nine games.  Thomas Shay has been a two-way star for our 14U Purple team contributing a .440 avg at the plate teamed with a 2.42 era to start the season.  George Grillakis (.421 avg), Jose Lopez (.423 avg) and Brennan Abrams (1.97 ERA) have all been standout players across the diamond for the team.

As our 16U and 17U seasons don’t kick off until June, our players have been hard at work representing their high schools this April.

16U Shawn Hines has had a great start for Lowell Catholic this April.

Leading the way is 2026 grad, Andrew Reid, who leads the ISL in both strikeouts (47K) and innings pitched (29 IP) representing Middlesex Prep. Danny Gleason (.317 avg) has been a strong contributor for the 6 and 7 Lowell High Red Raiders.

Brenden Modeski, Riley Johnson and Chad Vigeant combined to contribute 4 hits, 6 walks and 3.1 scoreless innings to lead Dracut High over Tewksbury to close out April.

Shawn Hines (Lowell Catholic) and Fradiel Matos (Greater Lowell Vocational) have been top contributors for their programs to start their seasons.
