Cobblestones Announces Long-Term Property Planning; Restaurant Remains Open

LOWELL — For more than 32 years, Cobblestones of Lowell has welcomed generations of guests, celebrations, community gatherings, and visitors to downtown Lowell. Today, ownership announced that it has begun a long-term planning process involving the marketing of the property while emphasizing that restaurant operations continue normally.

Over three decades, the restaurant has become woven into the fabric of downtown Lowell, serving residents, theatergoers, local sports fans, concert goers, organizations, families, and visitors while contributing to the city’s continued revitalization, hospitality, and cultural energy.

“We relish that this restaurant has meant so much to so many people for more than three decades,” said Scott Plath, Owner. “We’ve watched employees and families grow up here, hosted celebrations and community events, and continue to enjoy the privilege of being an integral part of Lowell’s success story.  As we begin evaluating the property’s long-term future, our commitment to our employees, guests, and community remains unchanged.”

Ownership noted that any future transition involving the property would be approached thoughtfully and responsibly, with respect for both the history of the building and its longstanding role within the community.

Cobblestones of Lowell will continue regular hours and operations throughout the process.  Plath is looking forward to the annual Lowell Folk Festival and Boarding House Park Summer Music Series, and continuing their monthly Chef’s Series celebration of Lowell’s Bicentennial, and reminds guests that “We are already booking holiday functions!”
