InsideDracut: Public Safety Night a Hit w/Community

DRACUT — Chief of Police Peter Bartlett is pleased to report that the Dracut Police Department hosted Public Safety Night for community members on Thursday, June 29 at Veteran’s Memorial Park was a success.

The free event included hotdogs, burgers, and drinks from local vendors, an ice cream truck, games, music, and a chance to play Dracut Police Department bingo, with local youths challenged to introduce themselves to Dracut Police officers in order to get a stamp on their bingo card. The winning bingo player won a hand-painted Dracut Police Department model truck and a $25 gift card.

Community Partners from the Dracut Fire Department, Massachusetts State Police, the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council K-9 and SWAT units, Manchester, N.H. Police, the U.S. Army National Guard, PrideStar Trinity EMS, Northern Middlesex Regional Emergency Communications Center, Massachusetts State 911, the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office, the Barnstead, New Hampshire Police Copsicle Truck, the U.S. Air Force and the Hidden Battles Foundation provided support at the event.

Major sponsors of Public Safety Night included Chunky’s, Centralville Sportsmen’s Club, Hannaford, Lions International, Martineau’s Towing, The Dow Company, Nutrition Junction, Heavenly Donuts, Momochi, Dracut Funeral Home, Royal House of Roast Beef, Pizza and Seafood, Dracut House of Pizza, Lucky Oil Burner Service, Racicot Funeral Home and Dracut Water Supply District.

“Building more positive relationships with community members of all ages is a major priority of the Dracut Police Department, and we had a blast hosting our community for an afternoon of good conversations, good food and good fun,” said Chief Bartlett. (View complete Photo Gallery below)
