It was an exciting Week 7 for Lowell Girls Lacrosse, as every team battled hard and showcased the progress they’ve made throughout the spring.
With the final regular‑season games coming up next weekend, the girls are gearing up for a big finish before the MYL Jamboree at Fort Devens.
Grade 1/2:
Lowell’s 1/2 team had a tremendous showing against Acton‑Boxboro, playing with confidence and proving once again that their hard work is paying off. Lowell came away with a strong 12–8 win, highlighted by great defense, outstanding goaltending, and relentless effort on ground balls and draw controls.
The offense featured seven different goal scorers. Mila Ferrer and Peyton O’Hearn each recorded a hat trick with 3 goals, while Julia Brown, Charlotte Patterson, Sydney Smith, Sophia Bedard, Evelyn McManus, and Audrey Whittemore all added 1 goal apiece. Acton‑Boxboro’s defense was tough, but Lowell still generated 6 assists on the day, coming from Ferrer, Catherine Gilberti, Rowan Keefe, Casey McCabe, O’Hearn, and Bedard.

Lowell dominated the turf, collecting 37 ground balls to maintain possession and create scoring opportunities. Ferrer led with 5, followed by Smith and O’Hearn with 4 each. McCabe, Abbey Whittemore, McManus, and Rauri Pollard each grabbed 3, while Brown, Gilberti, and Bedard added 2 apiece.
Rounding out the effort were Natalie Poulin, Patterson, Riley Gudewich, Maggie Reagan, Audrey Whittemore, and Riley Brady, each with 1. The team also battled hard in the center circle, winning 9 draw controls, led by McCabe and McManus with 2 each. Gudewich, Smith, O’Hearn, Abbey Whittemore, and Pollard each secured 1.

In net, Natalie Poulin (1st half) and Riley Brady (2nd half) were outstanding, standing tall against a relentless Acton‑Boxboro offense.
The defense never backed down, helping secure the 12–8 victory.
The girls will look to build on this momentum in practice this week as they prepare for their final matchup of the season on Sunday vs. Pentucket.

Grade 3/4 Red:
The 3/4 Red team delivered a strong all‑around effort against Acton‑Boxboro, earning a 9–3 win behind sharp passing, smart movement off the ball, and a defensive unit that consistently created turnovers across the field. Lowell controlled the draw, attacked loose balls with urgency, and put together one of their most complete performances of the season.

Leading the offense was Eva Mojica, who powered the attack with 3 goals, while Margot Justinien made a major impact of her own with 2 goals and 1 assist in a standout two‑way performance.
Emmagrace Glavine added 1 goal and 2 assists, helping drive the offense with her vision and ball distribution, and Michaela Marshall contributed 1 goal and 1 assist while sparking transition play.
Gisele Smith played an important playmaking role with 2 assists, consistently setting up scoring opportunities. Rounding out the scoring were Avery Gudewich and Etta Brunini, each netting a key goal, while Kinsley Witts added a strong 1‑assist effort to support the attack.

On the defensive end, Lily Brady was steady and composed in net, coming up with multiple saves to shut down Acton‑Boxboro’s scoring chances.
Reese Hegarty also delivered a standout effort from the attack, applying relentless pressure on clears and forcing hurried passes that helped Lowell regain possession.
The 3/4 Red team now looks ahead to their final regular‑season matchup against Pentucket.

Grade 3/4 White:
The 3/4 White team battled through an intense matchup with Winchester on Sunday and came away with a hard‑earned 14–12 victory. It was a high‑energy, back‑and‑forth game from start to finish, and the girls showed real grit by storming back after trailing by three at halftime. Every player dug in, played hard, and contributed to a true team win.
Offensively, Addison Feeney delivered a standout performance with 9 goals, while Vivian Brown added 2 goals and 5 assists to help fuel the comeback. Bella Cardaci chipped in 3 goals and 1 assist, and Maggie Branco added 2 assists. Additional contributions came from Katy Florence (1 assist) and Kendra Dexter (1 assist).

In net, Emma Smulligan had a strong day, making 6 saves and helping steady the defense during key stretches.
The 3/4 White team continues to build momentum as they head into the final weeks of the season.

Grade 5/6:
The 5/6 team came up just short in a tightly contested matchup on Sunday, falling to Acton‑Boxborough 7–6 in a game filled with momentum swings and strong individual efforts on both sides. Despite the narrow result, Lowell showed resilience, composure, and steady improvement throughout the contest.

The offense found its rhythm early and continued to generate chances all game long. Maeve McKiernan led the scoring with 3 goals, powering through traffic and finishing with confidence around the crease. Ellie Branco added 2 goals, slicing through defenders to keep the pressure on, while Sam Heslin buried a key tally that kept Lowell within striking distance late in the game.
Scoring opportunities were created through strong team play, with assists coming from Vivian Shanley, Addison Dolan, Brooke Sorbi, and Quinn Maguire. Supporting the attack with smart ball movement and off‑ball positioning were Nora Finn, Audrey Hunt, and Nylah Nwaise, while Bridget Quirbach and Renee Wagner worked effectively off‑ball to open lanes and extend possessions.

On the defensive end, Maya Underwood and Bella Bedard forced key turnovers that helped Lowell regain momentum, while Ellie Jaracz and Keira Pollard provided tight coverage and limited Acton‑Boxborough’s passing options.
In goal, J’Lynn Wallace stood strong with 8 saves, anchoring the defense with quick reactions and steady hands during several high‑pressure stretches.
It was a true team effort from start to finish, and the group continues to show growth each week. The 5/6 squad now looks ahead to its final classic‑season game next Sunday, 6/7, vs. Pentucket.

The 7/8 team put together a strong, well‑rounded performance in their matchup against Acton‑Boxboro, competing hard from start to finish in a game that featured contributions from all over the field. It was a balanced effort on both ends, with Lowell attacking aggressively, battling for ground balls, and defending with discipline throughout the contest.

Offensively, Lowell spread the scoring across the lineup. Cate Richardson led the way with 2 goals, while Maeve Marshall, Abby Smulligan, Samira Wagner, and Skylar Nwaise each added 1 goal, showcasing the team’s depth and ability to generate chances from multiple positions.
The midfield unit played a major role in controlling possession. Maeve Marshall dominated the circle with 4 draw controls, while Abby Smulligan added 2, and Nora Graham and Mairin Monaghan each secured 1. Their work helped Lowell maintain momentum and create extended offensive opportunities.

Lowell’s hustle was evident on the turf, with several players stepping up on ground balls. Graham led with 4, followed by Marshall and Fiona Zurkus with 2 each. Makenna Norman and Spencer Sullivan each added 1, helping Lowell win key 50/50 battles. Defensively, Marshall and Monaghan each recorded an interception, disrupting Acton‑Boxboro’s passing lanes and turning defense into transition.
It was a competitive, hard‑fought game from start to finish, and the 7/8 squad showed strong teamwork, balance, and effort across the roster. The group continues to build momentum as they head into the final stretch of the season.
