Lowell Mails 2026 Inactive Voters Notice

Lowell — The Lowell Elections Commission has mailed notices to voters who did not respond to the 2026 Annual City Census.

These notices inform voters that their names have been placed on an Inactive Voter List, which may cause delays at the polls on Election Day while their residency is confirmed. Failure to verify residency may eventually result in removal from the list of registered voters.

Registered voters who currently reside in Lowell can return to Active status by visiting https://census.lowellma.gov/lowell-individual/ and entering the “Voter ID” located at the bottom right of their notice.

They may also reactivate their status by checking the appropriate box on the reply card, signing it, and returning it by mail — no postage required. Voters who have moved must check the corresponding box, provide their new address and signature, and return the reply card by mail.

Voters may also check or update their voter registration online at www.voteinma.com. Additional information about Inactive Voters and the process for returning to Active status is available at https://www.lowellma.gov/2057/Inactive-Voters.
