After nearly six years heading Lowell General Hospital and Circle Health, Joseph “Jody” White has announced he will be retiring as CEO in September. He made the announcement in an email to staff earlier today.

White has served as CEO of Circle Health and Lowell General Hospital since April 2017. He stepped down from his dual role as President in September of 2022, to assume an expanded leadership role with the Tufts Medicine system.

In his email, White reflected on his career, which includes 20-years with the organization this April, while noting the “talented leadership team we have in place.” He went on to write “I have made the decistion to take the next step in my professional journey and will retire at the end of this fiscal year.”

White also went on to say he will work with LGH President Amy Hoey and the local/system leadership teams to ensure the transition is as smooth and seamless as possible.
