Vote by Mail Applications Sent to Voters

The Massachusetts Secretary of State has mailed Vote by Mail applications to every registered voter in the Commonwealth. Lowell voters will be among the first to see them arrive in mailboxes this week.

Voters wishing to cast a ballot by mail in the September 1, 2026, State Primary or the November 3, 2026, State Election may complete and return the application as soon as they receive it — no postage required.

Mail-in ballots may also be requested online at www.mailmyballotma.com, or paper applications may be requested by calling the Lowell Elections Department at (978) 674-4046.

The deadline to request a Primary ballot is 5:00PM on Tuesday, August 25.

Voters with pending requests may track the status of their ballot at www.trackmyballotma.com. Ballots are expected to be mailed to voters in early August.

In-person Early Voting for the State Primary will run from Saturday, August 22, through Friday, August 28. Early Voting for the State Election will run from Saturday, October 17, through Friday, October 30. Voters who do not cast a ballot early or by mail may vote in person on Primary and Election Day at their regular polling location between 7:00AM and 8:00PM.

Voters can confirm their registration status, update their information, register to vote, or look up their polling location at www.voteinma.com. The deadline for new or updated voter registrations for the Primary is Saturday, August 22.

The September 1 State Primary will include Democratic and Republican contests for U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative, Governor and Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Treasurer, Auditor, Governor’s Councilor, State Senator, State Representative, District Attorney, and Register of Probate.

The top vote-getters in each Primary will advance to the November 3 Election ballot, which will also include candidates for the Greater Lowell Technical High School Committee and statewide ballot questions.
